New Brawl Talk Brawl Stars Update
If you’re a longtime fan of Brawl Stars like I am, you already know the thrill of a fresh Brawl Talk. But this one? It hits differently. The new Brawl Talk Brawl Stars update is packed with content that could easily fill a full game release, and yet Supercell managed to squeeze it into one massive update for May.
From the jaw-dropping reveal of Ultra Legendary rarity to the MOBA-inspired Brawl Arena, this update doesn’t just raise the bar—it throws it into orbit.
Ultra Legendary Rarity: A New Tier of Power
Let’s start with the biggest headline—Supercell has introduced a brand-new rarity tier: Ultra Legendary. Now, this isn’t just a cosmetic label. Ultra Legendary Brawlers are designed with unique mechanics that set them apart from even the strongest Legendaries we’ve seen before.
And who better to debut this tier than Kaze, the ninja-geisha powerhouse who instantly stole the spotlight.
Kaze: A Brawler with Two Faces
Kaze is hands-down one of the most complex and creative Brawlers ever designed. Raised as a living weapon but dreaming of life as a geisha, she brings a beautiful contradiction to the battlefield. And yes, this contradiction plays out in real time during matches. You can switch between her Geisha and Ninja aspects at will, and both forms come with entirely different attack styles, Supers, gadgets, and star powers.
This isn’t just a character—it’s a playstyle revolution.
Kaze’s Combat Mechanics: Geisha and Ninja Forms
As a Geisha, Kaze uses bladed fans and relies on close-range dashes and positioning. Her main attack includes a “Strike Spot” mechanic—land it correctly, and you deal bonus damage and activate powerful effects. Her Super, Fan Storm, is an area-denial tool that reduces visibility and punishes enemies trying to escape.
Switch to Ninja form and it’s a whole new game. Kaze throws shurikens that deal more damage the closer you are, and her Shadow Dash Super lets her mark enemies—who then explode after a delay, anime-style. Seriously, it’s like something out of Naruto meets Overwatch.
Kaze’s Hypercharges: Dual Power-Ups
Every Ultra Legendary comes with something unique, and for Kaze, that means two Hypercharges. One enhances her Geisha form, adding damage-over-time effects inside her Fan Storm. The other boosts her Ninja mode, increasing dash speed and allowing her marks to instantly detonate if the enemy is weak enough.
I’ll be honest—this is one of the most strategic Brawlers I’ve ever seen, and I can’t wait to see how players use her in ranked.
Battle for Katana Kingdom: A Month-Long Event
The new event is just as grand. The Battle for Katana Kingdom spans four weeks, with each chapter unlocking new content, challenges, and Wasabi Powers—temporary power-ups that change how your Brawler performs. You collect them by earning Sushi Rolls through daily wins, quests, shop offers, and more.
And yes, there are 60 Wasabi Powers in total. Hot, Extra Hot, Crazy Hot, and Inferno—each with unique gameplay enhancements. Think Stu shooting while boosting or Surge getting his max upgrade instantly.
Club Event and Sushi Meter
Your club plays a part too. In the Mega Buffet event, you and your teammates earn tickets to compete in modified game modes. Every win adds points to your Club’s Sushi Buffet, unlocking Sushi Rolls that contribute to your Sushi Meter—the only way to unlock the Oni Kenji Hypercharge Skin.
Working with your Club has never felt more rewarding—or more delicious.
New Game Modes: Samurai Smash, Oni Hunt, and More
Three new game modes keep things fresh:
-
Samurai Smash: Team-based chaos (3v3 or 5v5) against each other and enemy bots.
-
Oni Hunt: Three players vs. a Hypercharged demon version of Kenji, with difficulty increasing daily.
-
Daily Contests: Compete on a leaderboard—top 8 earn sushi, bottom 2 get roasted.
These modes are a clear sign that Supercell is doubling down on content that offers variety, strategy, and humor.
Brawl Arena: Brawl Stars Goes MOBA
Here’s the update no one expected but everyone should try: Brawl Arena, a full-on MOBA mode in Brawl Stars. This isn’t a gimmick—there are towers, jungle zones, XP leveling, and a boss Kaiju you can defeat for buffs.
You can level up your Brawler mid-game, destroy structures, and outplay enemies with power spikes. And with no chat, it’s pure gameplay—no toxicity, just chaos.
Matches last 5 minutes, and I genuinely think this could become a core mode in the future.
Jae-yong: The Karaoke Brawler
Not to be overshadowed, the update also introduces Jae-yong, a quirky support Brawler who lives for karaoke. He switches between Work Mode (speed boosts) and Party Mode (healing) with his Super. His Star Powers and Gadgets enhance this duality with crowd-control, damage buffs, and healing bursts.
He may not be as flashy as Kaze, but his utility and personality make him a fan favorite already.
